Australian entertainment royalty Russell Crowe and Nicole Kidman have been honored with a new assignment before the upcoming AACTA Awards.
The duo will now be seen as the President and Vice President of the AACTA. According to Daily Mail, Crowe has been named the organization’s President, Kidman will take over as its vice president.
It is the same organization, which helped to boost their respective acting careers after they bagged their first AACTA prizes way back in 1991 and 1987, respectively. Both these actors have also bagged Oscars and are expected to use their new designations to nurture Aussie acting talents.
They will also make sure for the international growth of AACTA, as well as to boost their country’s business globally.
Russell Crowe will succeed Geoffrey Rush, who resigned from his post willingly in 2017. He did so after the Sydney Theater Company started probing into his alleged “inappropriate behavior.” However, Rush has refused the accusation.
The Robin Hood star mentioned that it is their responsibility to inspire people working in the TV and film industry or those who are fond of the entertainment industry to get associated with the Academy.
