Matthew McConaughey's Future Plans As Governor Of Texas Revealed! Here's What He Has To Say
Matthew McConaughey’s impressive career as an actor has given him gigantic opportunities outside of Hollywood. The Texan actor has been making a lot of noise in the media since rumors of his plans to run for political office has surfaced.
The Oscar award-winning actor was reported by several tabloids to have plans of running for political office in the next elections. Apparently, he strongly believes that he had no qualms in his native Texas if he ran for the office of Governor.
His confidence comes from the fact that he has always lived in Texas despite having a majority of his work in Los Angeles; secondly, he has supported a lot of charities in Texas, and he also had a career as a teacher at the University of Texas.
Although Matthew McConaughey would not be the first actor turned politician, it is quite shocking that the ever so chill ‘Fool’s Gold’ actor would seriously think of running for office.
But he recently addressed this rumor when he was a guest on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Host Colbert asked McConaughey what he thinks of the rumor, and he will really run?
The actor did not hesitate to reveal his truth, saying that he does not have any plans of running for office yet.
“I have no plans to do that right now, whatever leadership role I could be most useful in, and I don’t know that that’s politics,” McConaughey told Colbert.
From his answer, one might extract that he might run for office in the future. The likes of Arnold Schwarzenneger have been successful with their political career, and even late Preside Reagan was a B-list actor before running for Presidency.
Other actors who were rumored to have plans for a political career include Jessica Alba for California and Teresa Guidici for New Jersey.
Other than these absurd rumors made by National Enquirer, they also claim that McConaughey is also thinking of applying for a hosting job.
According to their reports, the “Dallas Texas Buyer’s Club” alum is seeing a career as the host of ‘Jepoardy!’.
The game show’s original host Alex Trebek passed away not too long ago after battling stage IV pancreatic cancer.
Allegedly producers of the show believe McConaughey would make a great host due to his smart and down-home likeability.
This rumor is yet to be confirmed, but if it so happens to be true, it would be a marvel to see McConaughey on the small screen.
