Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Lost Frogmore Cottage To Princess Eugenie; Losing Title's Soon?
In an unprecedented move, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have handed Frogmore Cottage to fellow royal couple Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank.
Princess Eugenie and Jack are reported to be the newest tenant of the property. According to sources curated by The DailyMail UK, the royal pair decided to take over Frogmore around two weeks ago.
Moving vans were also rumored to have been spotted in the property around the same time where it was alleged that all the belongings of the Sussex’s were removed from the house and shipped to California.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are currently living in Santa Barbara, California, where they bought a $14.7 million chateau. Quite an upgrade from their UK home.
The Sun reports that this change of tenancy in Frogmore is a big sign that Prince Harry and Meghan are ‘tying up loose ends’ after their infamous exit from the royal firm.
“Emptying their home and handing over the keys is a pretty strong sign, Harry and Meghan have no plans to return. It appears they are tying up loose ends as they plan to extend their stay in the US perhaps permanently,” the source said told The Sun.
The cottage is much closer to Princess Eugenie’s parents, who are just four miles away at Royal Lodge, Windsor Great Park, and only less than a mile away from Windsor Castle, where the Queen and Prince Philip are currently staying.
Furthermore, the house, which was refurbished last 2018 by the Sussex’s, has been kitted out with the Sussex’s own child in mind, Archie Harrison.
With Princess Eugenie and Jack expecting a new addition to their family soon, the house is a perfect fit for the couple.
Buckingham Palace has released a statement regarding the said change of tenant. According to the Palace, the property is still under Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s ownership and any private arrangements are a matter for them.
Whether Princess Eugenie will pay rent to the couple directly or to the Palace is unsure as of yet. But it will most likely be towards the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as they have already fully paid their dues for Frogmore's refurbishments.
Frogmore Cottage will still be Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s official residence in the UK, and when they do plan to return to London, they will make arrangements to live alongside Eugenie and Jack.
The Sussex’s are yet to make a statement regarding this issue.
