Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber sings of monsters
Canada's pop fans celebrate as two of today's brightest musicians hailing from the country, Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber, teams up for a one-of-a-kind track titled Monster.
After years of waiting, fans of the two singers' dream finally happened. As per Hollywood Life, Shawn and Justin's collaboration is on the impossible list since the 26-year-old Baby singer's wife, Hailey Baldwin, is Shawn's ex-girlfriend.
However, on Nov. 20 (Friday), Monster happened, alongside a music video that brings a cryptic and mysterious vibe to the listeners.
The song itself has the 22-year-old Stitches singer, and Justin sings of wondering lyrics of asking themselves questions. One part asked if they are knocked down from their respective "pedestals," does that mean they are monsters?
Furthermore, Monster's music video was simultaneously released by the newly-formed duo on Shawn's official Youtube channel. It kicks off with Shawn, wearing a plain white shirt paired with black pants and white shoes while walking in a forest-like location.
He continues singing the first verse as he finds his up to a white four-sided platform, paving the way for Justin's part. And as expected, Justin showed his intense singing talent with his high-pitched vocals. While Justin sings his feature, Shawn can be seen walking behind his partner.
Hours before the pair unveiled Monster, Justin and Shawn held a live countdown session on Youtube. With that, they can be seen chatting and laughing around together, making the fans of the two singers go crazy!
Bits before Monster was released
The collaboration of Shawn and Justin, as per NME, was teased earlier this week on social media. And with the release, the craft revealed that Colin Tilley was the director who made the concept possible.
On Oct. 6, Shawn addressed the rumor saying he turned down a chance to work with fellow Canadian singer Justin when he appeared on Britain's Capital FM Breakfast with Roman Kemp. "If I turned one down, that would be insane considering he's been one of my favorite artists since I was like nine-years-old," Shawn responded.
And amid the speculation of them having beef with each other, Justin made things clear when he said that there is no competition between them.
Meanwhile, as reported by Billboard, Monster comes after Shawn's Wonder, which is part of Wonder's album. The said album is set to arrive this coming Dec. 4 under Island Records.
