The Queen of Christmas, Mariah Carey, revealed a new star-studded Christmas special scheduled to premiere solely on Apple TV+ on Dec. 4, 2020. Carey tweeted on Wednesday (Nov. 18) with a glittery promotional poster smiling in the center of a vast evergreen wreath and captioned, “Let’s get festive!”

According to Billboard on Wednesday, appearances of Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, and Snoop Dogg on Mariah Carey’s Christmas special have been confirmed. 

Carey also invited an exceptional lineup of guest superstars like Jermaine Dupri, Misty Copeland and Mykal-Michelle Harris, Tiffany Haddish, and Billy Eichner. Her twins with Nick Cannon make exclusive appearances, Moroccan and Monroe.

The Christmas special is written by Caroline Fox and is executive produced by Carey, Ian Stewart, Raj Kapoor, and Ashley Edens. At the same time, BAFTA Award winner Hamish Hamilton and Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner Roman Coppola directed and partly served as executive producers.

The accompanying soundtrack of the Christmas special is full of brand new interpretations. The selection will be exclusively available on Apple Music the same day the special airs until Dec. 11.

LA Times reported that Apple would also debut a new single and music video that features Carey, Grande, and Hudson. The powerful collaboration will lead to a companion soundtrack where tracks from Snoop Dogg and Jermaine are introduced. A reimagined version of one of the popular Yuletide classics, Sleigh Ride, will also be added.

According to The Source, Carey is expected to grace an interview with New Zealand radio DJ Zane Lowe on Dec. 7. She plans to discuss her holiday playlist, new music releases, and her recently released memoir The Meaning of Mariah Carey. At the same time, it will also be the celebration of Apple Music’s Apple TV+.

Facing a holiday cheer crisis, Apple Inc. believes Carey is Santa’s great friend. Her brilliant ideas, like a combination of musical performances, energetic dancing, and groundbreaking movements, turns into something that creates a spectacular holiday. 

Carey will appear on Apple Music Hits and Apple Music’s radio station for a holiday hits special for six hours on Christmas day. The biggest festive songs will be featured, including All I Want For Christmas Is You.

The Magical Christmas special will be launched on Apple TV+ globally. It is reported to be the only new streaming service during this time to launch worldwide in over 100 countries immediately. It is also dignified with 122 awards nominations and 39 wins on top of the strong praises during its first year.
