‘Finding Freedom’ Author Slams Queen Elizabeth, Calls Decision To Snub Harry On Remembrance Sunday ‘Cruel’
Finding Freedom author, Omid Scobie, recently slammed Queen Elizabeth for snubbing Prince Harry on Remembrance Sunday.
Last week, the Duke of Sussex made headlines after the Sunday Times revealed that he was banned from laying a wreath at the somber event.
Shortly after, Scobie took his thoughts to Twitter to say that the queen’s decision to not allow her grandson to lay a wreath was cruel. And what made it worse is how this decision to snub Prince Harry reached the papers.
The author then discussed the snub in detail during a recent conversation on the Heir Pod podcast. Scobie said that the decision must have been humiliating and controversial for Prince Harry.
Scobie is also convinced that the Duke of Sussex deserved to take part in the gathering because of his involvement in the military.
He added that the queen could’ve bent the rules or she could’ve had a compromise with Prince Harry if she wanted to. But the fact that she didn’t says a lot about her relationship with Meghan Markle’s husband.
Scobie is also putting the blame on the monarchy for leaking the information that Prince Harry has been banned from participating in the event. As a result, the news of the snub, reportedly, took away from a moment that was supposed to only be centered on veterans.
If the monarchy didn’t leak the information, Scobie is convinced that no one would ask where Prince Harry’s wreath was because they’re aware of the decisions that he made earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry still made it a point to honor the fallen soldiers and his friends in the military while he’s in Los Angeles. He and Markle laid flowers at the Los Angeles Cemetery.
However, even this was heavily criticized by the tabloids who accused the couple of stealing the limelight from the royal family.
Others also questioned why Prince Harry is still doing the things that he did when he was a senior working royal. But during an interview, he explained how much he respects the soldiers.
The Duke of Sussex also said that he paid tribute to some of his friends in the military because of the work they’ve done to save the country.
Despite the criticisms, Republic is backing Prince Harry’s decision to quit The Firm. In fact, they are also encouraging Prince William to do the same.
While speaking with Express, Graham Smith said that Prince Charles and Prince William should think about the future of the monarchy because they won’t get the same support as the queen.
