Trump Admits Biden Won But Later Confirms That He Is Not Conceding
Although President Donald Trump seemingly acknowledged for the first time the Joe Biden won the recently concluded presidential election, he refuses to concede. The president has repeatedly raised questions regarding the mail-in ballots' reliability, making baseless claims about widespread voters' fraud.
Taking to his Twitter account on Sunday, Trump claimed that Biden won because the election was rigged, adding that no vote watchers or observers were allowed. Aside from that, he pointed out that the votes were counted by Radical Left privately owned company, Dominion, using defective equipment that couldn't even qualify for Texas, which he said he won by a lot.
Trump also called out the media, accusing it of being fake and silent. Just about an hour after this tweet, he said he would not concede the Nov. 3 vote. On the contrary, Trump has launched a series of lawsuits in key states without providing any evidence to support his repeated claims of fraud. None of those lawsuits have been successful so far.
On Friday, Election officials said the vote was most secure in the history of the United States while noting that there was no evidence indicating that the voting system lost or deleted votes, changed votes, or was compromised in any way. Biden continues to remain president-elect, BBC confirmed.
Aside from tweeting, the president spent Saturday golfing and driving by a crowd of his supporters in Washington, DC, to challenge the election results based on his dubious claims. After Biden announced the winner last week, Trump has refrained from facing the camera and refusing to take questions from reporters he does not consider as allies.
Despite remaining tight-lipped in front of the media, Trump continues to address his 90 million followers on social media. Without providing any sort of evidence, he repeatedly accused Democrats of stealing the election from him with illegal votes. CNN analyzed those claims and failed to find even a single instance of such things happening.
In his recent tweets, Trump said mechanical glitches with voting machines helped Democrats to steal votes. Twitter understandably added a warning to the president's post, in adding to adding several labels to his tweets, including ones that baselessly suggests there was voting fraud, per NBC News.
The delayed transition is stopping Biden from accessing high-level intelligence briefings while hindering his team's plan to quickly handle the coronavirus pandemic. Biden's team said the transition is in progress despite resistance from the Trump's administration.
