Rumors have swirled that Tom Cruise has left the infamous Church of Scientology to be reunited with his only biological daughter Suri Cruise.

InTouch Weekly has run this story over a year ago, but it has made its way back to the front of the Hollywood scene due to Cruise’s ‘Mission Impossible 7’ activities.

The 57-year-old actor has been absent in the life of his daughter Suri for a few years now after Katie Holmes divorced him.

Reasons for their divorce has not been explicitly revealed, but insiders have shared that Holmes's reason for filing divorce was due to Cruise’s decision to sign up Suri for a more intense Scientology training, which apparently scared the actress.

Due to the rules of the Church of Scientology, Tom Cruise cannot come in contact with Suri. The actions star was accused of abandoning his daughter after Cruise chose to stay with the church and obliged to its rules.

In this case, the apparent silence of Tom Cruise in the topics of Scientology in the past year has created rumors that the actor has left the Church.

“Tom has sacrificed the most important things in his life for Scientology. If he ever were to escape Scientology, it would be because of his daughter,” said a source.

Scientology has a controversial religion in Hollywood, other than Tom Cruise, actor John Travolta and his family are also part of the Church.

Earlier this year, Travolta’s wife died of cancer, and according to sources, after his wife’s death, the Travolta family decided to leave the church.

Travolta’s camp debunked this rumor. John and his late wife have been a part of the Church of Scientology longer than Tom Cruise. The two decided to join after their son's death.

The couple has stayed devout practitioners alongside Tom Cruise and his two ex-wives.

Tom Cruise’s faith was tried and tested with his relationships, that of Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes.

Kidman joined Scientology due to Cruise and they adopted two children together whom Kidman, reportedly, has not seen since their divorce due to the strict rules of the Church.

On the other hand, Katie Holmes was able to get the Church of Scientology to leave Suri Cruise alone, and she is currently raising young Suri in New York.

Tom Cruise and Suri are yet to have a get-together and it will not happen until Cruise leaves Scientology or Suri rejoins it.
