Judge Calls Johnny Depp A ‘Monster,’ Says What Amber Heard Experienced Must’ve Been Terrifying
Johnny Depp recently lost his libel case against The Sun.
Earlier this month, Judge Justice Nicol ruled that the publication was right to call Depp a wife beater because of all the evidence that they presented in court.
He also said that he accepts Heard’s evidence of the nature of the assaults Depp committed against her. Nicol acknowledged that what Heard endured while she was with the actor must have been terrifying.
According to the Aquaman star, Depp purposely cut his finger, and he used his blood to write on the wall. However, the Pirates of the Caribbean star blamed the injury on his ex-wife.
Depp claimed that Heard broke his finger during one of their physical fights. He also accused the actress of defecating on their hotel bed.
However, Nicol didn’t agree with Depp’s claims by saying that it’s impossible for Heard to defecate on the bed because she stayed in the hotel room while the actor was away.
Following his ruling, Depp announced that he has been asked to quit from his role as Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts.
According to Insider, losing his role in the upcoming movie is just beginning because it seems that Depp’s career will soon be over.
The publication claimed that Depp has already been struggling professionally even before he became involved with Heard. The actor’s recent movies didn’t fare well at the box office either.
While speaking with the publication, Neama Rahmani, a former federal prosecutor, said that Depp’s career may never recover.
Rahmani said that Disney already lost their interest in Depp after they axed him from Pirates of the Caribbean. And it’s unlikely for other major studios to still want to work with him.
The former federal prosecutor also predicted that Depp could become the next Harvey Weinstein.
Stacey Jones, the CEO of Hollywood Branded, called Warner Bros. decision to cut ties with Depp a very well-orchestrated plan. After all, they asked the actor to resign immediately after the ruling was released.
Jones added that Warner Bros. didn’t really have a choice in the matter because Fantastic Beasts is a family film. As such, casting someone who’s been accused of being a wife-beater, a drug user, and an alcoholic doesn’t sim to merge well with the essence of the film.
But Depp previously said that he won’t go down without a fight. Even though he quit his role in the movie, he still plans to re-appeal his case in London court.
