John Mulaney Performs First Sketch On Late Night With Seth Meyers
John Mulaney seems to be a promising talent as a writer and who knows he might make it big? Yes, the 38-year-old comedian appeared on Late Night With Seth Meyers to perform a sketch for the first time and netizens went crazy about it.
The producer of the late-night television show, Mike Shoemaker, took Twitter to reveal the clip from the upcoming episode in which Mulaney is featured along with the host Seth Meyers. Last week, the comedian appeared on the show as a guest after he hosted Saturday Night Live in the same week.
The television producer took a dig at the comedian and teased fans that he hopes Mulaney should be on the show as a writer for 100 years. However, he further noted that he would settle down for as long as Mulaney wants to stay. Moreover, he concluded the tweet by calling the comedian a rookie at a late-night show writer.
Since the tweet was made, fans couldn't hold back their excitement on Twitter and welcomed the comedian as a writer. Some fans also joked about how this talent seems to have a bright future in the entertainment industry.
However, the debut sketch Late Night clip shared by the producer on Twitter featured Mulaney donning the same outfit that he wore during the interview last week with Meyers. He ensured to keep the trench coat on given by Julian Casablancas of The Strokes during the Saturday Night Live episode.
The clip was shot recently as the segment mentioned things that happened post-election. Mulaney also sheds light on the huge role played by ghosts during the 2020 election. He also joked about US President-elect Joe Biden that he must have used ghouls and ghosts to ensure his victory.
Mulaney went on to refer Four Seasons Total Landscaping event of former Mayor of New York City, Rudy Giuliani and said it seemed like Dead Koch Dybbuk made a ghost prank. The comedian didn't stop making jokes about the ghosts and asked America if they believe in spirits or not. Mulaney asked everyone to make up their minds about ghosts as he begins addressing the nation.
“A lot of times, you hear people say ‘Oh, it felt like Pop was watching over me today when I hit that homerun!’ or ‘Oh, I could feel Mama with us when we bought the house today!’,” he joked. However, he noted that whenever someone says that they believe in such spirits, they tend to laugh at the person.
