The lives of the royals are a majority in public life. Although it is heavily frowned upon that personal details of their normal lives be published in tabloids and books, it is impossible to hide everything from the rest of the world.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s life especially was a feast for the UK media when they were part of the royal firm.

According to royal author Sean Smith in his new book ‘Meghan Misunderstood,’ the Duchess had a love-hate relationship with being married to a royal.

In his new book, he claims that Meghan Markle was a very serious person before getting in a wedding gown and saying ‘I do’ to Prince Harry, but a week after the nuptials, she was turned into ‘Harry’s hottie.’

“My feeling when I wrote the book is we lost her within a week actually. It was extraordinary. Here was a woman who went from being a human right's campaigner to Prince Harry's hottie, within a week,” Smith said during an interview on Lorraine.

Smith continued by saying positive things about Meghan Markle's success before her royal life, saying that she ‘championed’ it.

The Duchess was a known human rights activist and political activist and constantly showed support for the United Nations, becoming one of their ambassadors.

Women activists have quoted her charming and heartfelt speeches many times, and even got a standing ovation from the United Nation’s Secretary.

Apparently, the weight of the royal life was most obvious on the Duke and Duchess’s royal tour in South Africa, wherein the Duchess almost broke down on camera after being asked if ‘she was ok?’.

‘Meghan Misunderstood’ author confessed that the South Africa Royal Tour documentary perked his interest in Meghan Markle’s life. He then claimed that Meghan was treated like an ‘other’ by the British public.

Lorraine disagreed with Smith’s claim saying that Britons were perfectly welcoming of the Duchess into the royal family and that they ‘absolutely wanted her here [Britain].’

Furthermore, Meghan Markle's work as a philanthropist and activist was no longer highlighted when she entered into the world of royalty. She became a royal wife and almost took no part in important matters like all royal wives did.

This has been pointed out as one of the reasons why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left the royal folds, as there was no place for them in the firm any longer.
