Did Katie Holmes and Justin Theroux secretly date each other last year? At least, that is what a tabloid claimed. 

Last year, a publication insisted that the duo had a secret date in New York last year and mentioned that it turned out to be quite “romantic.” The tabloid quoted an anonymous source who purported that it did not take much time for the duo to like each other. 

The insider insisted that it was a revenge scheme against their former partners Jennifer Aniston and Jamie Foxx. While Jen did not, allegedly, like this pairing, the Jack and Jill star’s friends thought they were a “perfect match.”

The insider also added that the Batman Begins actress needed someone who was not as dominating as her former husband Tom Cruise and did not have a roving eye like her former beau Jamie Foxx. It seems Justin Theroux was the kind of man Holmes was looking for in her life. 

The piece had certain inconsistencies. If the duo were an item, the story would have covered in other major outlets as well. The dubious source went on to say that Holmes was so excited that she could hardly wait to share the good news with her sisters and close pals. 

However, when Gossip Cop contacted the actress's spokesperson to confirm the issue, they were told that the story was completely made up. A year has passed since then and Holmes and Emio Vitolo Jr., a celebrity chef, are an item at present (via Daily Mail). 

On the other hand, Justin Theroux was dating Lauren Norvelle in 2019. While there is no clarity on how serious their relationship is, it is obvious that Theroux did not date Katie Holmes ever. 

As far as the tabloid that published the piece in the first place is concerned, they have continued to publish other false stories about the actress. For instance, the outlet purported that Holmes’ beau Vitolo Jr. is already betraying her. 

Meanwhile, the actress proved why she is a fashionista once again while shooting for a renowned magazine. The 41-year-old will be seen on Vogue Australia’s cover and her fashionable photos were accompanied by a description of how she spent her lockdown days, Daily Mail reports.
