Debbie Gibson revealed that she had been recently approached for a biopic on her life. The 50-year-old singer and songwriter opened up about her biopic and which actress she would like to play her on-screen.

Gibson disclosed that she has many stories that she would like to put on the silver screen for fans to enjoy those moments. The Lost in Your Eyes singer spoke in an exclusive interview with ET that shed light on how she began her career at the age of 16, gained fame across the world, and also the biopic.

After Gibson revealed that someone wants to make a biopic on her life, host Kevin Frazier asked who she wants to portray her in the film and she immediately answered, Jojo Siwa. The singer further explained the reason for choosing the 17-year-old multi-talented young star.

"Can't you see her doing Electric Youth 2020 with all her lightening bolt makeup on her face. She's kind of got my energy," Gibson added. The singer confessed she was merely 16-year-old when her first album was dropped in 1987, Out of the Blue.

She recalled that the album featured hits such as Foolish Beat, Out of the Blue, and Shake Your Love. The singer said that she used to go to the club circuit with her mother to perform whenever possible. She called her mother "crazy," but in a good way as she used to take her to the clubs and get money from the owner beforehand.

The singer posted a picture on her Instagram from Studio City, California, with Frazier doing a socially distant high five. Gibson explained how she keeps herself occupied while entertaining her fans and followers on social media.

She is also hosting her Sirius XM show titled Debbie Gibson's Mixtape, which is a bi-weekly show. She joined the show last year that featured on The Blend Channel. Gibson admitted that she first began to do the show for the sake of distraction and entertainment. However, she started liking the variety it served as she keeps modern music, rock, and also country songs on her smartphone.

Gibson said that she loves new talents making music and she introduces those new artists to her audience as they might not be listening to songs of the new generation. On the personal front, the singer is loving her single life while she is open to introducing a new person in her life if it happens automatically.
