Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Tragically Lied About Archie’s Birth Because Of Princess Diana
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were very private about the birth of their son, Archie.
In the book Battle of Brothers, author Robert Lacey revealed that Archie was born at 5:26 a.m. on May 6. But it was only at around 2 p.m. that a statement was released about Markle delivering her son.
The announcement was also reportedly misleading because Prince Harry and Markle purposely led royal fans to think that Markle was still in delivery when they’ve already been at home with their son for hours.
According to Lacey, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were very particular about Archie’s birth and privacy because of what happened to Princess Diana.
He said that Prince Harry and Markle were adamant that Archie’s first view of the world wouldn’t be cameras and lights flashing. After all, these cameras and flashing lights were the last things that Princess Diana saw when she died.
In 1997, the paparazzi tailed Princess Diana’s car while in a tunnel in France and the chase resulted in her death. The late royal had just gone out of the Ritz Hotel after visiting Dodi Al-Fayed’s apartment.
Meanwhile, Lacey revealed that Prince Harry and Markle’s secrecy angered Prince William. The Duke of Cambridge couldn’t, allegedly, understand the Sussexes’ primadonna maneuvers to conceal Archie’s birth.
After all, Prince William and Kate Middleton followed Princess Diana’s footsteps by introducing their three children to the entire world shortly after they were born.
According to Lacey, the Cambridges were so furious with the Sussexes’ attempts to conceal Archie’s birth that they refused to visit the couple at their house. Instead, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge waited eight days before they met Archie.
And when they finally visited Prince Harry and Markle, they decided to not bring Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis with them.
However, Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, Prince Charles, and Camilla visited Archie, Prince Harry, and Markle just hours after the Suits alum gave birth.
In July, the authors of Finding Freedom claimed that Prince Harry wanted Archie to be best friends with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
But following Prince William and Prince Harry’s falling out, the latter, reportedly, started feeling claustrophobic. After all, he was working with his brother, and they were also living very close to each other.
As such, the Duke of Sussex decided to keep his distance from Prince William. And this remains to be the case today.
