John Legend Gets A 'Jack' Tattoo To Honor His Late Son
Sharing a tribute to her late son Jack, Chrissy Teigen got a new tattoo on her wrist. In an Instagram photo, fans caught a glimpse of the new ink that reads "Jack," and now, her husband has followed suit by getting a matching tattoo to pay an emotional tribute to their late son. The 41-year-old singer's new tattoo simply reads "Jack," as well.
Teigen and Legend lost their baby boy twenty weeks after pregnancy. The couple got matching tattoos of the son's name, Jack, on their wrists. Referencing their loss, Teigen said at the time that it happened about halfway through her pregnancy, meaning it happened about 20 to 24 weeks.
After they lost their son on Sept. 30, Teigen understandably took a break from social media. She later shared a post to her Instagram account to update her fans about the pregnancy loss. She told her followers that they lost their baby boy after going through blood transfusions at the hospital, where she was expected to deliver the baby.
The couple's tattoo artist Daniel Winter, popularly known as Winter Stone, shared photos of their inked tributes to Instagram on Monday. In the post, Stone wrote that his heart is with John and Crissy. The photo showed Teigen and Legend's "Jack" tattoos, written in cursive script.
The 34-year-old Cravings cookbook author gave her followers a glimpse of her new tattoo when she and The Voice coach were out on a date night. Stone previously gave the couple a family-centric tattoo. Just above her "Jack" tattoo, Teigen has another tattoo that reads "John – Luna – Miles," referencing her husband and two daughters Luna Simone, and son Miles Theodore, PEOPLE reported.
Her husband sports a similar tattoo that reads, "Chrissy – Luna – Miles." In Oct. 2019, Teigen got another tattoo by Winter Stone on her left arm, featuring the birthdays of her dad Ron Teigen Sr., mom Vilailuck Teigen, husband, and their kids, according to PEOPLE.
Following the pregnancy loss, the former model was diagnosed with partial placenta abruption. She wrote an emotional essay, sharing the difficult experience of losing her baby boy with her fans. In the essay, she explained that she decided to share her experience because she felt she needed to say something before moving on from this and returning to life.
She went on to say that their late son will always be loved, Us Weekly reported. In Oct., Legend dedicated his "Never Break" performance to his wife during Billboard Music Awards 2020. In an emotional speech, he told Teigen that he loves and cherishes her and their family, adding that they have been through highs and lows together.
