Meghan Markle Gets Her Way! Judge Grants Request To Delay Court Case Due To 'Confidential' Reasons
Meghan Markle’s case against the Associated Press in the United Kingdom has been postponed inevitably.
The Duchess of Sussex reportedly requested for the overseeing judge of the case to postpone the trial. Express UK reported that the request was placed earlier this week by the Duchess’s team. The reason behind the request is unknown.
According to the filed reports, due to ‘confidential reasons,’ the Duchesses plead the case to be reviewed in nine months instead of earlier next year.
The trial was supposed to begin on January 11 next year, but due to the Duchess’s filing a request report, it has been moved to Autumn 2021.
Several news outlets have blasted the Duchess for this decision and have, reportedly, negatively regarding the issue.
But Fox News has revealed that the overseeing judge and court have granted the request of Meghan Markle.
"The right decision in all the circumstances is to grant the application to adjourn,” Mr. Justice Warby said.
The issue behind the court case is still a heavy battle between Markle and Mail UK. Meghan sued the media outlet after it produced private letters sent by her to his father, Thomas Markle.
During her royal wedding preparation, the Duchess and her father had a massive fall out wherein the public ridiculed the Duchess for her ongoing family feud.
Thomas Markle, who Meghan requested to attend on her wedding day to walk her down the aisle, backed out at the very last minute, leading to Prince Charles walking her instead.
This was a historic time for the royals as this was an unusual arrangement for such a huge and public wedding.
It is also reported that Thomas Markle is preparing to reveal his side of things regarding his daughter's court case against the Mail.
This is not the first time the Duchess of Sussex has been involved in a case against the Associated Press.
Earlier this year, Meghan and husband, Prince Harry, filed a case against several paparazzi companies for publishing photos of their son Archie Harrison, a privacy breach that the couple took seriously.
The couple has since won it and an arduous apology has been released by one of these paparazzi companies. The photos have also been deleted from all media outlets.
Harry and Meghan Markle are now private citizens and are exercising their right to privacy. They are situated in Santa Barbar, California.
