Lauren Jauregui Shares Traumatic Details Following Camila Cabello Dating Rumors
Lauren Jauregui revealed how rumors of Camila Cabello and her dating affected her life. While Cabello has been making headlines with Shawn Mendes because of quarantining together, the 24-year-old singer opened up on Becky G's podcast about the rumors.
The singer appeared on the En La Sala podcast and set the record straight for the fans who speculated that two of them used to date as they belonged to the same band. During the interview, Jauregui revealed that many fans and followers assumed that they were dating, which made her absolutely uncomfortable.
She emphasized her discomfort and said that it was disgusting because she addressed herself as a queer while she was sure that Cabello was straight. Moreover, it made Jauregui feel like she a predator who was following Cabello.
"It made me feel like a predator because the types of clips people would put together and the types of stories that people would write and the type of stuff," she explained. She further said that she felt like being the "aggressor" who is always turning her.
The former Fifth Harmony singer admitted that she was the one with more masculine power compared to the 23-year-old American-Cuban singer and songwriter, which made her feel more confined. In fact, Cabello recently shared intimidating moments with her boyfriend, Mendes, through social media.
Cabello took Instagram to share pictures of her new look, which was clicked by the Treat You Better singer, while Mendes also shared the cozy moments the couple has been spending together in quarantine.
Mendes also opened up about his relationship with Cabello and how it influenced his upcoming album, Wonder. The singer appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon virtually and gave Cabello credit for pushing him towards completing his album during the pandemic.
However, Jauregui was vocal about the friendship she shared with Cabello and called their rapport a "genuine friendship." Although she agreed that considering her situation in tabloids, it made her over-analyze with every girl she ever came across.
She also noted that she doesn't want to make any girl feel uncomfortable by the way she looks at them while she said that their fans still believe that both of them used to date.
Given that, Jauregui feels traumatized as she didn't even disclose to her parents and such news was floating on social media and tabloids. Cabello left the girl group in 2016 and Jauregui admitted publicly being a queer.
