Brian May revealed how grateful he is after suffering from major health issues. The legendary 73-year-old guitarist had an almost fatal allergic reaction from his medication following the heart attack earlier this year.

The musician was immediately admitted to the hospital, and soon after being discharged, he disclosed being lucky enough to survive something major. However, after he survived the major heart attack, the guitarist acknowledged that the complications were pretty bad that he faced much later due to the medications.

The musician's wife and actress Anita Dobson admitted that those medications almost killed her husband while the Queen star blamed the ongoing coronavirus for the health issues. May explained that he coughed really bad and felt exhausted during his tour in Australia, Japan, and Korea in January.

May said that he might be suffering from COVID-19 at that stage as it thickened the blood, which eventually caused a heart attack. While the rock band lead guitarist got his coronavirus test negative, he thinks that the results won't be positive as the symptoms were mild at an earlier stage.

In an interview, the musician said that he was the most fitness enthusiast on the latest Rhapsody tour of Queen as he would go for a bike ride every morning. He further said that he doesn't smoke nor drink too much. May said he avoids fatty foods, and he doesn't do anything that would lead him to a heart attack.

The guitarist said these are the reasons why he feels his heart attack was a "mystery." Moreover, he revealed how the complications after medication turned out to be deadly for him. The musician opened up with Good Morning Britain on Oct. 27 and said it wasn't the heart attack but the medication that would have ended up his life.

He said one needs to be cautious before consuming the medication as it might be good for your heart but not for the entire body. He explained that it seemed to be a tightrope that the patient walks on, and one can go down with those medications.

May disclosed having stomach hemorrhage because of those substances, and he lost a huge amount of blood. The musician said that it was difficult for him to even get "across the floor." He first disclosed his heart attack in May through an Instagram post and mentioned that it wasn't the thing that harmed him.
