Kelly Clarkson Goes Speechless Following A Performer Sings Her Cover Song
Kelly Clarkson has been making headlines by sharing details of her divorce and also relationship advice but this time, something happened during the reality TV show that made the singer go speechless.
Yes, the 38-year-old singer and songwriter who won many competitions and garnered the honor of being the first American Idol winner were shocked when the season 19's contestant sang 'I Dare You.'
While the singer has always been vocal about her feelings, it is difficult for a performer to make such an artist go quiet following the performance. The Voice coach couldn't be the usual chatty judge on the show after Kelsie Watts performed at the Blind Auditions on Oct. 26.
Before the audition began, the Nashville native said she liked to take the risk and give her 100 percent rather than being safe with a performance that doesn't move anyone. Looking at the previous performances of other contestants who tried to sing the song originally performed by the coaches doesn't really go well.
For instance, Lauren Hall was one of the contestants who tried to sing Breakaway of Clarkson in season 17, but she was sent home following the performance. One of the co-coach on the show, Gwen Stefani, said that it becomes difficult to push the button after the contestant sings their original songs.
The Kelly Clarkson Show host agreed with the fellow coach and admitted being "hard on" those contestants. However, Watts seemed to an exception on the show as Clarkson was impressed by her performance.
Clarkson said that one contestant couldn't just turn up, sing her song, and not have her attention while she approved the performer based on her high notes. Stefani also agreed with Clarkson and approved the singer. While Clarkson was shocked with Watts' performance and praised her for "one-upped" with her own song, Watts also chose Clarkson to be her coach on the show.
Besides being the coach, Clarkson is also actively participating in innovative voting campaigns. According to Census Bureau, there are several celebrities joining the campaign to encourage fans to vote, such as Portugal, Grouplove, Cordae, Meek Mill, boy band Why Don’t We, Jack Harlow, along with Clarkson.
Recently, One of the fans asked the multi-talented star to give relationship advice and the singer didn't hold back amid her ongoing divorce proceedings with her husband, Brandon Blackstock.
