Royal Shock: It Turns Out Queen Elizabeth Had A Really Good Reason For Rejecting Meghan Markle's First Choice Of Wedding Tiara
The story behind the tiara fiasco coming up to Megha Markle’s wedding ceremony with Prince Harry sheds a lot of negative light on the future Duchess.
It was alleged that the ex-actress wanted to don a different tiara on her wedding day at St. George’s Chapel but was denied by the Queen on her first option.
There have been several reports as to the real reason why the monarch vetoed Meghan Markle’s top choice. Instead, she ended up wearing Queen Mary’s bandeau tiara.
According to royal historian Robert Lacey, the ultimate reason why the Queen denied Meghan Markle the Emerald Tiara she chose was due to the history interlaced with the crown jewel.
Lacey writes in his newest book ‘Battle of Brothers’ that the British royal family did not originally commission the tiara and that the origin of the crown was from Russia.
In an excerpt from Lacey’s book, he writes, “we were told that the Queen felt that she had to say 'no' to Meghan's first choice, a beautiful emerald headdress that was said 'to have come from Russia.”
This was a code that the Tiara’s origin came from a sensitive place or event. Lacey explained that it meant the Emerald tiara either found its way into the Windsor's hand through dodgy channels.
It is also alleged in ‘Battle of Brothers’ that Prince Harry’s was ignorant of the Emerald tiara's history and that his outburst during Meghan Markle’s preparation was uncalled for.
There were several reports that Prince Harry demanded that Meghan’s wishes be followed. He reportedly said, ‘What Meghan wants, Meghan gets,’ which further angered the Queen.
The Emerald tiara's sensitive history has made it one of the most reclusive crown jewels of the royal family. The tiara is seldom displayed in public and it was the palace’s discretion that Meghan Markle’s wedding was not showered with scandals.
The royal jewels are a very important part of the royal members' wardrobe, especially with the women who wear them.
Several of the jewels have sensitive history and have been handed down to the British royal family's women to use on special occasions.
Town and Country reported that the jewels adorning the royal women are all part of a strategic plan. On numerous occasions, Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, has worn Princess Diana’s jewels, invoking a memory of the late royal.
Meghan Markle’s tiara fiasco is widely misunderstood but now the real explanation has been revealed through ‘Battle of Brothers.’
