Offset Fans Shows Support After Police Detained The Rapper
Cardi B's husband and one of the popular hip-hop trio Migos' members, Offset, was recently pulled out of his car by the cops. The confrontation between the Beverly Hills police and the 28-year-old rapper was live on Instagram.
As per the reports, Kiari Kendrell Cephus, known as Offset, was placed in his car when two police officers approached him. The video had clear audio in which the rapper could be heard saying that he is "not doing that" because he can see the cops had their guns out.
However, one of the male officers said that it is his choice to keep the gun out of the holder, to which Offset replied that he is not going to leave the steering wheel. There was a female police officer who informed Offset that someone reported that he was waving guns at the scene.
Although, Offset explained that he is a member of Migos and the people following him are his fans. But the female officer said that this is not the reason why they are asking Offset to step out of the car. The heated conversation went on as the female officer said that he pointed guns towards common people on the street, which is why they approached him in the first place.
In his defense, the How Did I Get Here singer told officers that even they witnessed some person hitting his car with a flag and he couldn’t understand why the cops kept harassing him. Eventually, the rapper said that he is live on Instagram and at that time, over 25,000 users are watching them live.
Offset further told officers that they might get "sued publicly" after doing this. However, one of the officers tried to open the vehicle’s door and the rapper immediately noted that what they are trying to do is illegal. The cops eventually got in the car and pulled him out.
Later, the Beverly Hills Police Department issued a statement where they mentioned that Offset was not arrested but only pulled out of his car. It was another man named Marcelo Almanzar, who was with the rapper when cops arrested.
Derrian Perry, Offset's representative, released a statement in which the rapper thanked all his fans as they supported him. Moreover, the statement mentioned that the artist was detained after getting attacked by Trump supporters.
