Chris Hemsworth's Hulk Hogan Biopic To Unveil Pro Wrestling's Unseen Side
As if that weren't enough, Chris Hemsworth has been roped in to play the lead role. But much to the chagrin of those restlessly waiting for the Hulk Hogan Biopic, the Thor star revealed in a recently-concluded interview that he knows only as much as fans about the hotly-anticipated project at this stage.
Hemsworth is waiting with bated breath along with the rest of the fans for some sort of forwarding momentum surrounding the Hulk Hogan biographical film that he has been associated with since 2019. During his latest interview, the actor noted that he is excited about the unveiling the world of pro wrestling through the upcoming movie.
Responding to ScreenRant's question about the current progress in the Hulk Hogan project, Hemsworth said that he hadn't even got a chance to read the script yet, adding that it's being worked on at the moment. Admitting that he knows very about little about the progress made so far, Hemsworth said it's in the process now.
Psychological thriller Joker director Todd Phillips is reportedly in the talks to helm the biopic, which is scripted by John Pollono and Scott Silver, who wrote the screenplay for Joker. Slated to be made at Netflix, with Bradley Cooper as one of its producers, the movie will center on Hogan's rise to fame in the 80s, but will not revolve around the latest scandals and lawsuits attached with the wrestler.
Hemsworth was promoting Nextflix's action-thriller Extraction when he opened up about what attracted him to the Hulk Hogan biopic. Admitting that he is fascinated by the wrestling realm, he said the makers are bent on showcasing an unseen side of the wrestling world. He said he is as intriguing as the fans.
Making an honest, yet entertaining biopic can prove to be a tricky task, especially if it is monitored by the person who is its subject. Touted as one of the world's most popular professional wrestlers, Hogan's long and storied career hasn't been plagued with controversies, but the biopic may or may not include it.
Hemsworth was attracted to the idea of getting a closer look at the glamorous, larger-than-life of those associated with the professional wrestling entertainment industry. The biopic will revolve around Hogan's initial years as a promising professional wrestler on the Florida wrestling circuit back in the 70s. It will also show his journey after been inducted into the WWF in the 80s.
