Prince William Pays Tribute To Princess Diana With Latest Royal Engagement
Prince William paid tribute to Princess Diana this week with his latest royal engagement.
This week, Prince William visited The Royal Marsden in Sutton to mark the start of the construction for the Trust’s Oak Cancer Center. While there, the Duke of Cambridge met with a small group of patients, who shared with him how their stay at that institution has changed their lives.
To commemorate Prince William’s visit, a photo of Princess Diana at the same hospital in 1990 was shared online via Kensington Palace’s official Instagram account.
In the snap, Princess Diana is smiling from ear to ear while wearing a hard hat. The late royal is also wearing a black and white ensemble.
During his visit, Prince William expressed her delight to lay the foundation stone at the Trust’s Oak Cancer Center 30 years after the Princess of Wales did the exact same thing during her visit. Back then, Princess Diana laid the foundation stone for Chelsea Wing.
Following the official visit, fans of Prince William couldn’t help but praise him for his efforts. Some of them said that he’s certainly like his late mother. Others also noted that Princess Diana’s legacy would continue to live on through Kate Middleton’s husband.
Another royal fan commented on the photo with a story about how she and her late mother met Prince William. The fan said that her mom was confined at The Royal Marsden and there was a time when Prince William visited the hospital and he, reportedly, had tea with the fan’s mom.
When the royal fan’s mom told Prince William that she has two daughters who are both single, the Duke of Cambridge apologized to the patient and said that he’s courting Middleton.
Shortly after Prince William and Middleton tied the knot in 2011, they also visited The Royal Marsden together.
Meanwhile, Prince William also made headlines this week after his and Middleton’s plans for their kids for the half-term break were revealed.
According to Hello! magazine, the Cambridges will most likely head to Anmer Hall because this is where they usually spend the holidays as a family.
The publication is also speculating on the possibility of the couple organizing a mini Halloween party for their three children. However, nothing has been confirmed yet by Prince William, Middleton, or the palace insiders.
