Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, reportedly, had a falling out with Prince Philip after they decided to quit The Firm.

And the couple’s relationship with the Duke of Edinburgh has never recovered since then.

In the book Prince Philip Revealed, author Ingrid Seward explained why this is the case. The author said that the 99-year-old retired royal is the type of man who says his bit about issues and then he takes a step back from the situation because he doesn’t like interfering.

After Prince Philip told Prince Harry and Markle his thoughts about their Megxit, he reportedly felt that it was up to the couple to listen to what he said. However, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex refused to listen to the retired royal.

And since Prince Philip is very loyal to Queen Elizabeth, he knew that the Sussexes’ decision upset his wife. And because the queen is upset with Prince Harry and Markle, he couldn’t also help but feel upset with the couple.

Prince Philip’s mantra is reported that the monarchy comes first, second, and third. And this is the same thing that he told Princess Diana when she was still alive. The dad of four told his late daughter-in-law that the royal family isn’t a popularity contest.

According to Seward, Prince Philip welcomed Meghan Markle into the royal family in the beginning because he knows what it’s like to be an outsider. And the author also said that Prince Philip even liked the Duchess of Sussex in the beginning.

But some of her actions have left a bad state on Prince Philip. And in turn, it has affected Prince Philip’s relationship with Prince Harry. The two men used to be very close before Markle entered the picture.

Meanwhile, Seward also revealed that even while Markle and Prince Harry were dating, the Suits alum already tried to change a lot of things about Prince Harry. She banned him from attending the shooting weekend because she didn’t want him to slaughter the birds.

However, Prince Harry forgot to tell the senior royals that he wouldn’t be joining the shooting weekend. They waited for him for hours and he appeared at the door wearing his sleepwear. The Duke of Sussex explained that Markle didn’t want him to join and this shocked the royal family.

After all, they were just simply participating in a lengthy tradition.
