‘DWTS': Peta Murgatroyd Opens Up Why She Was Unavailable Post Performance
Peta Murgatroyd revealed the reason behind her absence following her performance. The blend of Bon Jovi, tango, and the 1980s don't seem to go well with the 34-year-old professional dancer. Fans and judges wondered why the performer was missing after Monday's show during the press line, where usually performers talk about their experience on stage.
The professional dancer disclosed that it was an injury that led her to exit the show immediately once she got off the stage. It was a special of 80's night theme on the Dancing With The Stars show when Murgatroyd and her dancing partner, Vernon Davis, rocked the stage as they performed tango set.
The dancing couple chose Livin' on a Prayer of Bon Jovi's 1986 album, Slippery When Wet. It seemed that the performer needed emergency help as she hurt her neck while doing the tango. The performer confirmed through social media later the reason behind leaving immediately.
Murgatroyd took Twitter to apologize for leaving and mentioned "Dancing with the Stars #DWTS" twitter handle. The dancer apologized for her absence from the spot she was supposed to be after the performance.
She informed that her neck was pulled and had to rush to get therapy for fixing. While she further said that her neck would get fine soon, she wanted to get it checked as soon as possible when it happened. However, she thanked everyone for their concern and said that she is looking forward to performing in the upcoming week.
Carrie Ann Inaba, one of the judges on the show, was surprised to receive the news of Murgatroyd's injury and spoke with Lauren Zima about the episode. The 52-year-old television personality acknowledged the hard work and the risk factor in the 80s dance involved.
The judge further explained that there are many things involved during the performance, such as a wig and more stuff that might easily tweak someone's neck, which is also a part of the 80s routine. While Ann Inaba doesn't look very surprised by the performance's danger, she was definitely concerned about the performer.
"You could definitely tweak a neck with the '80s [routines]. But I hope she's OK, most importantly... she'll be dancing next week, so I hope she's okay and takes care of her neck," she explained. Before Murgatroyd, another performer on the show, Kaitlyn Bristowe, also hurt herself during the rehearsals.
