Amal Clooney and George Clooney are, allegedly, feuding over the actor’s beard.

According to National Enquirer, Amal thinks that her husband’s beard is gross. And the human rights lawyer, allegedly, gave George an ultimatum that if he doesn’t shave off his beard, she would file for divorce.

“Lose the beard or lose your privileges with me. She thinks George’s scruff ages him by decades and makes him look more like a lumberjack than the movie star she married. Amal wants him looking refined and handsome – not rough and tumble,” the source said.

The insider also claimed that George teased his wife that he wants to let his beard grow wild like his friend, David Letterman. And this, allegedly, made Amal even more furious.

“It’s to the point that she doesn’t want to hug or kiss him,” the source said.

But the couple’s twins, Alexander and Ella, allegedly, enjoy pulling and twisting their dad’s beard. And they also laugh nonstop because they get tickled by their dad’s facial hair.

“It’s made for a bit of a hair-raising family standoff,” the source said.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. There are more important things in George and Amal’s marriage that they can fight about. It’s unlikely for the couple to argue or even want to end their marriage because of George’s beard.

Gossip Cop also debunked the tabloid’s claims by saying that they’re untrue. They also asked a source close to the couple about the rumors and were told that they are 100 percent false.

“In regards to the couple’s relationship, the two are still very much together, which is a narrative we’ve corrected more times than we’d like to count. Besides, the couple has been married for six years and George Clooney has often had a beard over that time, are we to believe it's only now that Amal thinks it's ‘gross’? What a silly report,” the rumor-debunking site said.

National Enquirer has been writing absurd stories about George and Amal Clooney for years. In June, they claimed that the couple is already dating other people. They also claimed that their marriage is deteriorating.

The same tabloid has been saying that George and Amal are getting a divorce. But they still haven’t until today. And perhaps they never will.
