Ellen DeGeneres Paranoid She Could Lose ‘Ellen Show,’ Sells Paintings For More Income
Ellen DeGeneres is, allegedly, selling her paintings as a safety net for when she loses Ellen Show.
According to National Enquirer, DeGeneres is still paranoid over possibly losing her job because of the criticisms that she has been receiving. Even though she already apologized for the toxic work environment on Ellen Show, a lot of people still questioned her intentions.
As such, a source told the tabloid that the comedian is just selling some of her paintings to make sure that even if she loses her job, she can sustain her lavish lifestyle.
“Ellen is smart enough to realize if she loses her cushy paycheck she won’t have enough to fund her current lifestyle. It kills her to have to sell her beloved art collection, but selling the new home in Montecito would hurt a lot more,” the source said.
Just recently, reports revealed that DeGeneres is selling some of her paintings for $1 million apiece. And some of the paintings that she’s letting go of were made by Jean-Michel Basquiat and Francois-Xavier Lalanne.
“Ellen may have apologized for her behavior and the toxic environment on her show, but she wouldn’t be ditching the art she’s spent years collecting unless she was really, really worried about her job!” the source said.
However, there are a lot of wrong things about the tabloid’s story. For instance, to say that DeGeneres couldn’t support her lavish lifestyle if she stops hosting Ellen Show is false.
After all, DeGeneres has several other sources of income. So even without her hosting gig, she certainly has more than enough. And by the looks of it, it would just be a matter of time before someone hires her to host another program.
Last summer, Portia de Rossi’s wife was plagued with criticisms about her behavior. But she was not fired from her hosting gig. But after some producers were accused of harassment and bullying, they were let go of.
This shows that DeGeneres is still respected in the industry. And she’s still in demand. As such, it’s unlikely for her to lose her hosting gig with Ellen Show.
It is also important to note that DeGeneres and de Rossi have been selling paintings throughout the past decade. This story is only being highlighted now because of the controversies DeGeneres was involved in.
