Meghan Markle Allegedly Lied About 'Finding Freedom,' Would Have To Answer Questions Under Oath
Meghan Markle, allegedly, lied about her involvement in Finding Freedom.
Mail on Sunday recently fired back at Markle after she filed a lawsuit against them when they published a photo of her handwritten letter to her dad, Thomas Markle Sr.
The lawyer for the publication claimed that Markle was aware that the letter would be published that she’s why she decided to write to her dad. They also accused Markle of giving the authors of Finding Freedom information that only she and Prince Harry could possibly know about.
In January, the Duchess of Sussex would be questioned in court while she’s under oath. And a source told Woman's Day that Markle’s friends are worried about her.
“Meghan’s friends were worried it would come to this. She now has to testify about how much she collaborates with the media. If she gets caught in a lie even once about any of those 49 instances, she’s done for. It will be hugely embarrassing for the duke and duchess, especially for Meghan, who will have to answer incredibly personal questions,” the source said.
According to the insider, Markle would also have to surrender several months' worth of WhatsApp messages and photos.
“This is exactly what her original legal counsel was afraid of. I’d heard Meghan’s first lawyer advised she should settle privately with The Mail on Sunday given every word she’s ever spoken will come under the microscope. Given that everyone knows she historically has been someone who likes playing the media game and a large chunk of her social circle are celebrities and publicist types, it’s going to be almost impossible to prove the privacy case,” the source said.
In 2013, Markle, reportedly, had an encounter with Katie Hind, who happens to be the editor for Mail on Sunday. The Suits alum, reportedly, told Hind that she was looking for love. Prince Harry’s wife also, allegedly, asked Hind to get her to the British tabloids.
Hind said that Markle’s desire to be in the tabloids didn’t coincide with her complaints about being hounded by the press.
Meanwhile, the source said that there has also been advice for Markle to just settle the lawsuit.
“But Meghan insisted on proceeding. She wanted her day in court. I wonder if she’s regretting that, now she’s going to have to fess up on the truth about her complicated relationship with the media,” the source said.
