Jaden Smith Told Ellen DeGeneres He Wanted To Buy Will And Jada Pinkett-Smith’s House, And Shift Them To A Small Apartment
Following the shocking revelations made on Red Table Talk, the Smith family has been making headlines more than ever. Back when Jaden Smith first started coming into the spotlight and garnering popularity in Hollywood after his big break in The Pursuit of Happyness with father Will Smith, he made an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and spoke candidly as a young actor.
Known for his unique fashion and highly appealing music, Will made his first appearance as his dad's on-screen son in the movie The Pursuit of Happyness after he auditioned for the role. Later, he made his first appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
During his appearance on the show, the comedian asked Jaden how he became involved in the movie, and if he was nervous at all being part of such a big production. The young kid recalled being surrounded by people he already knew and having a nice time. “It just really fun," he recalled.
Then the Ellen Show host asked if his dad ever gave him advice on set. Noting that Will gave him advice, Jaden said he told it wasn't really acting, and he needs to be in the moment. He went on to reveal that his dad advised him to not pretend to be what his character is doing, but rather do what the character is doing.
Later in the interview, Ellen asked Jaden if he was making a lot of money from his films, noting that she knows he was saving money for something special. "What are you saving for?" she asked.
The young actor admitted that he wanted to buy his parents' house, and DeGeneres clarified if he planned to buy his parents' house from them. Jaden said yes, and when the host asked him if he would let Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith live with him after he purchases their home, Jaden replied he would give them a new place, a little apartment.
DeGeneres went on to ask if that apartment would be in the backyard. Jaden said he would buy his parents a new apartment in Texas, sporting a deadpan expression. The audience roared with laughter.
Jaden later bought his own house at the age of 18. If Jaden would have purchased his parents' home when he was still 10 years old, he would have had quite the estate. Will and Jada Pinkett Smith own a mansion worth $42 million in California. The mansion features custom details spanning across 25,000 square feet.
Prior to this mansion, the couple owned homes in Hawaii which they sold for more than $20 million. Jaden never bought his parents' house but purchased his own place, worth $4 million. This property is located within a gated community in California's Hidden Hills area.
It has five bedrooms, six bathrooms, and a myriad of wealthy neighbors who reportedly weren't a fan of Jaden's lifestyle. A neighbor told Daily Mail that Jaden has a sense of entitlement, bravado. The neighbor went on to say that the actor-singer doesn't care if the security gives him a warning; he continues doing what he likes.
While Jaden has several personal goals, it looks like buying his parents' house isn't one of them.
