Jane Fonda Gets Real About Her Love Life At 82 On The Ellen DeGeneres Show
Actress Jane Fonda is 82-years-old but doesn't shy away from discussing her love life. The former fashion model made an appearance on Friday's The Ellen DeGeneres Show to promote her new book entitled, What Can I Do? My Path from Climate Despair to Action, when the host brought up her personal life.
Guest host Tiffany Haddish kicked off the show praising Fonda for looking amazing in her latest magazine spreads. She then goes on to ask Fonda about her love life, considering she still looks so good. "No, no, zero," Fonda replied, shaking his head and giving a thumbs down.
She explained saying that she doesn't have time and has had a lot of it and does not need it right now, also because she is too busy. The Grace and Frankie star recalled what his ex-husband Ted Turner says about waiting too long. "It grows over," she added, noting that she thinks he was right.
The political activist jokingly said that she couldn't reactivate her love life, even if she wanted to. Fonda tied the wedding knot with Turner in 1991, before splitting from him in 2001. She then married Tom Hayden in 1973, and they separated in 1990. She was also married to Roger Vadim from 1965 to 1973.
During the conversation, Haddish asked Fonda if she regretted not being romantically involved with Marvin Gaye while still married to Hayden. She had previously spoken about this interesting story last month in a New York Times profile.
"You a good woman," Haddish told The 9 to 5 star explained that she couldn't have done that to her former husband. While Haddish complimented Fonda for being a good woman, she admitted that she couldn't have been so good, although she aspires to be like her and is learning how to control herself.
Fonda then pointed out that Haddish shouldn't try to control when she is with her boyfriend, Common, to which the comedian replied, saying she is out of control with him. If another man approached her, she said she already got a man.
Fonda previously opened up to ET about her relationships and how she struggles with online dating, particularly because she is a famous person. The actress said she has never been lonely or bored in her life.
Fonda said she was good to be an activist, noting that she wouldn't look as good as she does if she felt depressed. Aside from that, she said she had a good posture.
