‘Mean Girls’ Cast Reunited For Special Message, Recreated One Of The Most Iconic Scenes In The Film
The iconic ‘Mean Girl’ cast just had a reunion, and they created one of the funniest and most memorable scenes in the movie.
Lindsay Lohan was joined by her other ‘Mean Girl’ co-stars earlier this week. The clip, which she uploaded on her official Instagram, showed her and co-stars Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried, and Lacey Chabert to recreate the four-way phone call in the movie.
The call starts with Lohan’s character Cady being on the phone with McAdams's character, Rachel. During the call, Rachel was badmouthing Gretchen (Lacey Chabert), which was, of course, overheard by Chabert.
Rachel then ended up calling Seyfried’s character Karen, which again she started to rant about Gretchen.
Gretchen's infamous cough during the call signaling the girls that she heard everything McAdams said became one of the most memorable scenes in the movie.
This, of course, was the chosen scene the girls recreated for Lohan’s Instagram video. The reunion between ‘The Plastics’ was, of course, for a good cause.
The reunion was aimed to spread the message of getting people to vote in the upcoming US Presidential elections this coming November.
Earlier this month, there was a reunion of the entire cast of the ‘Mean Girl’ movie, including the heartthrob played by Jonathan Bennet, and according to Bennet, the reunion was mediocre and totally awkward.
Bennet revealed during an interview that the awkwardness came from the fact that the cast has never been together in one event in the 16 years since the movie’s release.
He continued by saying that it was such a shock to see everyone that it was hard not to babble ask everyone how they were in the zoom call.
Bennet exclaimed that ‘it was a moment!’
‘Mean Girls’ became a cult classic after it’s release in 2004, the many one-liners that have now been considered classic.
One of the most famous lines ‘On Wednesday We Wear Pink’ has been used numerous times in movies and TV series after the film's successful release.
All of the cast of ‘The Plastics’ went on to became successful after the movie’s release. There were many requests over the years that creator and actress Tina Fey make a second film of ‘Mean Girls’, but Fey has no wished to make a sequel or make the movie into a franchise.
There was indeed a reboot of the film, which failed miserably as fans only want the original cast to be in the film.
