Taylor Swift Bakes Customised Cookies To Endorse Joe Biden
While many celebrities are supporting Joe Biden for his presidential campaign by writing posts on social media, Taylor Swift went one step further to show her support. Yes, the 30-year-old singer baked custom cookies to back up the campaign.
Swift took Twitter to announce on Oct. 7 that she will be voting for Biden. She tweeted this before the debate scheduled between the Democratic vice presidential nominee and current vice president of the United States, Mike Pence. The singer wrote that she recently gave an interview to V Magazine stating that why she would like to choose Joe Biden as a president.
"So apt that it’s come out on the night of the VP debate. Gonna be watching and supporting @KamalaHarris by yelling at the tv a lot. And I also have custom cookies," she wrote. Besides the supportive caption, the singer also posted two pictures of herself and created Inez and Vinoodh for the photography.
In one of the pictures, the singer added a cover photo of the magazine that reads "the thought leaders issue" while in another picture Swift has been holding a huge plate that consists of two different shapes of cookies. Both the shape of cookies had "Biden Harris 2020" written in white, red, and blue.
The promotion wasn't surprising to the fans and followers of the singer as she has been vocal about Donald Trump's administration and criticized since 2018. Although The Last Great American Dynasty singer had avoided speaking on politics at the beginning of her career.
Recently, the singer has slammed the idea of postal service before the elections that she called "calculated dismantling", where millions of Americans will vote through the mail. Lately, Swift is actively using her social media to share her political beliefs and leaning towards the former vice president of the United States.
During an interview, Swift told V magazine that America deserves a president who will bring the change and see people of all colors equally. The singer acknowledged that Black people aren't felt represented or safe at the moment.
Swift also said that women should have all the right on their bodies to decide what happens to it along with LGBTQIA+ community. She also noted that every citizen seeks a government that will take the global crisis seriously unlike the current government. Moreover, she believes that Harris and Biden can heal the country under their leadership.
