Katie Holmes’ dad, Martin Holmes is, allegedly, worried about her relationship with Emilio Vitolo.

Martin, who is a lawyer, is, allegedly, thinking of ways to make sure that his daughter would be protected from Vitolo in case he’s just using her for fame and money.

“Martin’s worried about this guy’s intentions, but he can’t tell Katie who to date, and she’s head over heels right now. He’ll only risk alienating Katie if he says what’s really on his mind. But what he can do is make sure Emilio’s not going to pull any kiss-and-tell stunts,” the source told New Idea.

The insider also claimed that the Dawson’s Creek star is still pretty raw from her last two relationships with Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx. However, this seems unlikely because Holmes and Cruise have been divorced since 2012.

And it’s also evident that Holmes and Foxx have already moved on from each other after dating for a couple of years.

“Martin doesn’t want her to blow her whole reputation on a rebound,” the source said.

The insider insisted that confidentiality agreements are fairly standard when dating A-listers. But what’s uncommon is for an actress’s dad to request a full background check on the man that she’s dating.

And this, according to the insider, is what Martin has done. He has, allegedly, asked someone to do a background check on Vitolo, his family, and his former fiancée, Rachel Emmons.

“It’s not the first time Martin’s intervened when it comes to his daughter’s love life. According to reports, the father-of-five helped orchestrate her 2012 shock split from Tom Cruise. Marty is very rigid. It’s his way or the highway,” the source said.

However, none of the tabloid’s claims are true. Holmes’ dad didn’t ask Vitolo to sign a dating contract. And he didn’t also request for a full background check on his daughter’s boyfriend.

If Holmes feels in danger or thinks that she’s being used, she herself might have requested for a full background check. But based on the photos of the couple, it seems that they are both very happy.

And Holmes also deserves to be with someone who doesn’t mind flaunting her with the world.

While the actress was dating Foxx, they both had to keep their relationship a secret until just before they called it quits.
