Prince William Forced To Pick Up Prince Harry’s Slack After Duke Made Comments On Election
Prince William will take over Prince Harry’s military role moving forward.
Following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to quit The Firm, there were reports saying that the Duke of Sussex will continue to serve as the Captain-General of the Royal Marines.
It also became evident that this is a role that Prince Harry didn’t want to let go of. But after he commented on the elections in the United States, the military was, reportedly, forced to pass the baton to Prince William.
Unfortunately, New Idea claimed that this is a job that the Duke of Cambridge isn’t happy about because it means that he’s going to pick up his younger brother’s slack.
While speaking with Express, royal correspondent Richard Palmer said that Prince Harry’s recent comments about the presidential elections in the United States might have sealed the deal for him.
“The Sussexes’ intervention in the US presidential election, no matter how carefully worded, was deemed by palace officials to have crossed a line. It’s likely to have effects,” he said.
Palmer also said that Prince William taking over Prince Harry’s former role in the military would be a major blow for the Duke of Sussex.
“The headline in the paper doesn’t mention Harry, but it will undoubtedly be a blow to him if this happens,” he said.
Weeks ago, a source told Mirror that Prince Harry is longing to return to the Marines. And there are also claims suggesting that he’s struggling to adjust in the United States and wants to return to the United Kingdom.
“We spoke about the Games, I was very respectful and did not ask him anything about his new life or anything. He simply said he misses his role with the Marines and would like one day to return to the appointment,” the source said.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry also made headlines this week amid claims that he fought back his tears during a very public royal snub.
In the book Battle of Brothers, author Robert Lacey said that Prince Harry became a tad bit emotional after learning that 2,000 orders of service had already been sent out detailing that Prince William and Middleton would enter Westminster Abbey with the royal family at an event earlier this year. There was, reportedly, no mention of Prince Harry and Markle.
But the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge stepped in to diffuse the situation by deciding to still walk with the Sussexes even after their Megxit.
