'It Is Sad': James Stewart Says Elton John Didn’t Make Effort To Reconcile
English music vets James Stewart and Elton John are among the world’s most influential musicians of all time. Their combined music careers span over 100 years – during this period they have given music buffs some of the most lovable songs that delight the generation today and the ones that are queued up to come next and further.
However, these two legends don’t quite go hand in hand, as a matter of fact, they have had their personal issues in the industry.
But it’s not what one would think it might be – the competition culture, the same-field ego, or anything of that sort, instead, it was just a little mole-like issue that has constructed a big wall of difference between the two.
The fallout took place last year after some of the blunt comments from Rod Stewart emerged that must have sparked angry flames in the heart of Elton John.
Rod Stewart openly criticized John’s move to do an extensive farewell tour. In addition to that, Sir Rod shared his negative review of John’s biopic titled "Rocketman" that released last year. Although the movie garnered a great amount of critical and commercial acclaim, to Sir Rod is was not a very ‘flattering’ piece of work.
The music legends don’t talk to each other anymore, but it’s not that none of them made any effort to reconcile. As a matter of fact, Sir Rod had invited Elton John and David Furnish’s two sons, Zachary and Elijah at his home to use the football pitch. He did so because they are big football junkies and thought that could be a good way to get together and clear the bad air – but he never heard back from John.
During his appearance on Chris Evans’ “How To Wow" podcast, Sir Rod shed light on his feud with John and controversies related to his "Rocketman" comments.
The musician said: ‘We don’t talk to each other anymore. Big falling out.’ He said of the film: ‘It was ok, I just wished it hadn’t been a musical. No, I don’t mean that I mean the dancing outside the council house made it a bit Mamma Mia I felt. No, we were real close, I mean we were very close when we both lived in Berkshire, he lived just round the corner. It’s sad."
In the coming time, fans get the sight of reunion, if everything goes all well between the two.
