Robin Williams' children honored Will Smith along with his family for the contribution to the entertainment industry. The late actor's children Zak Williams, Cody Alan Williams, and Zelda Williams honored the family with Robin Williams Legacy of Laughter Award.

The award was established in 2014 after Williams took his own life. The award was presented virtually as Smith posted a video on Oct. 4 about Zachary announced the award will be presented to Trey, Willow, Jaden, Jada Pinkett-Smith, and Smith.

The 37-year-old actor and son of Williams explained in the video how important mental health is and the experience he had following his father's suicide. He spoke about the low point in his life and how he healed from the trauma.

“My becoming a mental health advocate stems from the trauma and loss I experienced after my dad died by suicide. I experienced a serious low point in my life and I found that the most healing experience for me was committing to service around causes,” he explained.

Bring Change to Mind invited Zachary on board that is a nonprofit organization founded by activist and actress Glenn Close that has been dedicated to encouraging people to speak up regarding their mental health.

Williams' family provides the Legacy of Laughter Award through the non-profit to someone who brings joy to people. Zachary said that he has been asked a lot of about the word 'legacy' and that's the reason they decided to give away this honor to someone who built with love, unity, and kindness.

The Ride or Die star said that this year the organization wanted to present this award to Smith's family as a whole and individuals for their contributions to bring joy into people's life. He further acknowledged their groundbreaking discussions on mental health, career, and family that most of the celebrities maintain silence on.

Moreover, the Smith family's charitable work such as helping the homeless, fighting AIDS, youth programs, and clean water for the needy. Zachary also praised Jada and Will for raising the next generation, which is a "true testament" for the couple.

The family accepted the honor virtually and shared their response. Smith praised Williams and said that he was a "master of human connection" and always wanted others to laugh. The 52-year-old actor said that Williams always used to scan for even a brief moment to make the interaction magical and memorable.
