Prince Andrew, allegedly, shattered Princess Eugenie’s recent pregnancy announcement because of the scandal that he’s involved in.

Last year, reports claimed that Prince Andrew sexually abused an underage girl in the 90s. The Duke of York immediately denied the claims but his close friendship with the late Jeffrey Epstein made it difficult for him to clear his name.

Months after the scandal first broke out, Prince Andrew announced that he will be stepping back from his royal duties. And since then, the Duke of York has not been seen in public often.

In fact, he was seemingly erased and banished from his daughters’ biggest announcements. Prince Andrew wasn’t featured in Princess Beatrice’s official wedding photos. And he didn’t also post anything about Princess Eugenie’s pregnancy.

While speaking on the Royal Beat host Kate Thornton and royal author Katie Nicholl discussed Princess Eugenie’s pregnancy and the lack of mention of Prince Andrew.

“It is happy news in a really tumultuous time for the Yorks. We've all been waiting for this announcement because it's two years now since [Eugenie and Jack] were married and they’ve been together for 7 years. I think we were all waiting, we were all on baby bump watch, but it’s great for the Yorks that it’s come in - obviously during what has been a pretty tough year,” Nicholl said.

The royal author also said that Sarah Ferguson immediately jumped on the bandwagon to express her excitement over Princess Eugenie’s pregnancy. But there were no photos of her ex-husband.

“You feel like at Beas wedding, he's completely been erased,” Nicholl said.

Thornton added that it seems Prince Andrew has been erased because there was no reference to him whatsoever.

Royal expert Russell Myers chimed in by saying that Prince Andrew had not been seen in public in so long.

While the sources’ claims are based on facts and observation, New Idea decided to publish another misleading headline about Princess Eugenie and Prince Andrew.

They claimed that the Duke of York shattered Princess Eugenie’s joy when he didn’t. He simply didn’t post anything about his daughter’s pregnancy. And Princess Eugenie didn’t include him in her post.

However, this doesn’t mean that Prince Andrew ruined Princess Eugenie’s pregnancy joy. It’s more likely that he’s just staying out of the limelight because of the scandal that he’s involved in.
