Millie Bobby Brown Shares Her Story On Being Rejected From 'Game Of Thrones' Role, Disheartened And Almost Quit Acting
Child star Millie Bobby Brown recently shared her experience as a young actress in Hollywood during an interview with Jimmy Fallon on his virtual telecast of ‘The Late Night Show With Jimmy Fallon’.
The 16-year-old actress who looked slick with red lipstick on and her short hair straightened to give her a mature effect talked about the biggest rejection she had in Hollywood and how it almost made her want to give up acting.
Milly Bobby Brown shared her story of auditioning for HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’ back then, wherein she spoke about how much she wanted to get the role but unfortunately could not.
She continued by saying that she was severely disheartened by the rejection, citing that added with how much she wanted to get the role, the ‘No’ from the production team just added more salt to the wound.
However, Milly Bobby Brown bounced back immediately. She told host, Jimmy Fallon how she had to continue on with her acting despite the ‘Game of Thrones’ rejection making her think twice about her craft.
She eventually auditioned again for an upcoming show on Netflix, which at that time during her audition was called ‘Montauk’.
Brown revealed that the project soon became ‘Stranger Things’. Millie happily talked about her getting the role of Eleven in ‘Stranger Things’ and how much it has changed her life.
She also stated that if she quit immediately after being rejected from ‘Game of Thrones’ she would not have gotten the ‘Stranger Thing’ role.
The young budding actress also shared words of wisdom, saying that the industry she has dabbled in is full of noes 24/7 but that is the beauty of it, striving to get somewhere.
Millie Bobby Brown freshly starred in a Netflix original film ‘Enola Holmes’. The movie follows the little sister of genius investigator Sherlock Holmes on an adventure looking for their mother.
Brown talked about Enola Holmes in the interview and also gushed about her costar, especially the legendary Helena Bonham-Carter, which played her mother in the movie.
Brown revealed that it was an honor for her to act together with Helena, citing that the actress is one of the best in the industry.
‘Superman’ actor Henry Cavill was also part of the cast and portrayed Enola’s older brother Sherlock Holmes.
Mycroft Holmes was played by actor Sam Claflin. Also joining the cast is young and upcoming actor Louis Partridge.
