Former British Army General Sends Heartbreaking Letter To Prince Harry Pleading Him To Not 'Stay Away For Too Long'
Prince Harry’s exit from the royal institution had several repercussions on his work as a philanthropist. One of the many patronages of Prince Harry is the Royal Army, as a veteran of the army itself, Prince Harry has become the beacon of light for those who are part of the royal army.
The decision of Harry and Meghan Markle to leave their royal duties also meant that Prince Harry had to let go most of his charities and organizations, including the royal army.
In a truly heartbreaking letter, the former head of the British Army pleaded to Prince Harry to not ‘stay away too long’.
General Sir Richard Dannatt revealed during an interview with Sunday People that he has sent a letter to Prince Harry asking him to come back to the UK because many people and especially veterans miss him.
Sir Dannatt continued on by saying that although he has made it clear that he feels a lot of sorrow that Prince Harry has left his duties in the UK, he cannot envisage Harry coming back anytime soon.
Prince Harry served with the British Army for 10 years and rose to the rank of Captain, known to his peers as Captain Windsor.
The Duke of Sussex was assigned in Afghanistan, wherein he was on active duty, putting his life on the line.
Sir Dannatt who knows the current situation Prince Harry is in, including his wife, Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex and his 16-month-old son, Archie Harrison expressed his support for him.
According to the former General, he does not criticize Prince Harry’s decision of leaving the royal folds to pursue a new and more private life across the pond.
During the interview, Sir Dannatt was also asked about the alleged feud between Prince Harry and his older brother, Prince William.
Dannatt reveals his two cents saying that he did not believe the rumors at first but now he has a feeling that there might be some sort of rift between the brothers.
He also revealed his ill feelings towards the said fallout of the brothers, comparing it to the traumas caused by the death of Princess Diana and the Abdication of King Edward VI.
Prince William served with the Royal Airforce, becoming a pilot for a helicopter ambulance. The brother’s military career has seen them rise above their ranks and both have served beyond expected. Harry especially who had a long career in the Army.
