Ryan Reynolds Delivers A Witty Quip In Response To Dwayne Johnson's Instagram Post
There's a reason why they call Dwayne Johnson, The Rock, and the former WWE Superstar proved it when he tore his front gate apart using only his bare hands. The 6'2" Jumanji star, who weighs in at 262 lbs (or 119 kg) posted a photo of the knocked-down front door to his Instagram account and nearly broke the Internet.
Some of the pro-wrestler-turned-movie star's famous friends, including Ryan Reynolds, took to the comments section of the photo to deliver hilarious reactions to his post. Johnson's Instagram followers were shocked when the actor posted an image of the front gate of his property, which was lying in the grass rather than hanging on its hinges.
In the caption section of the photo, Johnson explained that the gate was not opening after a power outage. He initially tried to override the mechanism but failed, so Johnson decided to take matters into his own hands, literally.
"I pushed, pulled, and ripped the gate completely off myself.” He then said he had to tear it out of the brick wall, slice the steel hydraulics, and threw it on the grass," Johnson wrote on Instagram.
He attributed his decision to go to such extreme lengths to needing to get to work. In his post, the actor wrote hundred of his production crew members were waiting for him to come to work so that they could start their day. "So, I did what I had to do," he said about dismantling the front door.
As expected, this post garnered popcorn worthy comments from The Rock's famous pals, particularly from his Hollywood buddies who took to the opportunity to mock their colleague. “The gate opened the OTHER way,” Ryan Reynolds wrote.
Reynolds and Johnson share a warm rapport and have collaborated for their second big-screen offering. Reynolds even made a brief appearance in Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, starring Idris Elba, Jason Statham, and Johnson.
Much to the delight of their fans, Johnson and Reynolds will be reuniting in an upcoming film called Red Notice, which is currently being filmed in Atlanta. Aside from Reynolds, a slew of other celebrities earned laughs by commenting on Johnson's post.
Former NFL player Brian Westbrook asked on behalf of his friend if Johnson could've simply jumped the fence and got a ride to work, while standup comic Tony Baker said the gate's final words were not like "beeeeeeeeeeeeep."
Comedian James Andre Jefferson Jr. chimed in saying he sometimes struggles to even open a jar of pickles. Using hashtag #headedtothegym, L. Chris Stewart Esq said he once ripped open an Amazon package without using scissors and felt strong, until he saw this post.
