Angelina Jolie, reportedly, became smitten with Johnny Depp’s character in the movie, Edward Scissorhands.

According to reports, Jolie was so inspired by the actor and his character. As such, the actress allegedly talked about her attraction towards Depp in the unauthorized biography, Angelina: An Unauthorized Biography.

“At the same time, Angie dressed like a punk and identified with outsiders like the hero of Edward Scissorhands, the cult movie released in December 1990 that was a must-see for every goth worth her black mascara. Angie was smitten with actor Johnny Depp, who played Edward, an isolated figure with scissors for hands. The movie’s themes of alienation and self-discovery spoke to the angst-ridden Angie,” the author said.

Years ago, Jolie also gushed over Depp during her interview with The Japan Times. The A-listers had the opportunity to work together in The Tourist.

“Of course, I always wanted to work with Johnny Depp! What actress hasn’t? I’ve thought he was the coolest thing for years. I practically grew up with him, and had such a crush on him in Edward Scissorhands!” Jolie said.

Depp also appeared to be quite smitten with Jolie. During a previous interview, the Pirates of the Caribbean star gushed over the actress by calling a perfect beauty and a walking poem.

“She’s kind of a walking poem, Angelina…You know she is this perfect beauty. But at the same time, very deep, very smart, very quick, very clever, and very funny. She also has a very perverse sense of humor. Yeah, she’s great fun,” Depp said.

Jolie and Depp’s attraction towards each other has also led some tabloids to speculate on the real nature of their relationship.

In July, Star claimed that Jolie warned Depp about his ex-wife, Amber Heard. Jolie is, allegedly, worried that Heard may be using Depp to earn a huge sum of money.

A source claimed that Jolie told Depp to tread carefully because she has a bad feeling about the Aquaman star. And the insider also said that Jolie is open to the idea of testifying in court so she could tell the judge how wonderful Depp is.

However, Jolie never made an appearance in court during Depp’s hearing against The Sun. It is also unlikely for Brad Pitt’s ex-wife to be warning Depp against Heard.

After all, Jolie also has her own problems to worry about because she and Pitt have not yet reached a custody agreement.
