‘Best Rapper Alive’: Kamala Harris Doesn’t Know If Tupac Is Dead
A serious and embarrassing gaffe made by the Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Kamala Harris.
On Friday, during an interview with CNN's Angela Rye at the NAACP's virtual convention, Kamala Harris got red-faced as she named Tupac as the “best rapper alive.”
Tupac was a great rapper, no doubt – but he is not alive. Tupac Shakur has been dead for more than 2 decades. Some 24 years back on September 7, 1996, Tupac was shot dead at the Las Vegas drive-by.
As a matter of fact, Kamala’s mistake can be excused as there have been numerous conspiracy theories for years stating that the hip-hop star faked his own death and he is not dead yet. However, after a long time of no controversy on Tupac’s death, Kamala’s slip-up has once again sparked debates that he is still alive.
Social media was sent into a frenzy in the wake of Kamala’s mistaken remarks on Tupac. In no time, users began slamming Kamala for feigning interest in rapping to get the attention of black voters to secure the vote bank.
Tupac is considered to be one of the most influential rappers of all time. Much of his work centered around the social issues running within United States cities. He is one of the early instigators of activism against social inequality and resistance.
Tupac is the epitome of rapping and Kamala knew that but made a mistake. After Rye pointed out that Kamala had made a mistake, Kamala said awkwardly that she keeps doing that. Taking a pause for a moment, Kamala struggled to find the name of the next rapper and move forward in the discussion.
Just a few days back, Kamala was trolled for copying the style of first lady Melania Trump when she wore camel-colored Timberland boots on her tour to check out the state of the aftermath of the California wildfire.
Kamala was a wise pick for the vice presidency by Democrats – she represents multiple identities and has been popular for being firm in her decision and stance on social issues.
The worry for Dems is that Trump may be piling up reports made out of slip-ups, mistakes, and every other event where the Dems went wrong. And he will lay it all out during the presidential debate that will start from September 29. This is a tricky path to the office, carefulness can be the key. But Dems have been making little mistakes, now and then and the same goes for President Trump.
