Alyssa Milano Talks About Her Recovery From COVID-19
While many celebrities opened up about their contraction with COVID-19, Alyssa Milano said that her coronavirus contraction still shows symptoms after a couple of months. The 47-year-old actress spoke with Kevin Frazier and revealed how she survived the virus.
The Embrace of the Vampire star revealed last month that she has been tested negative for COVID-19 and tested positive with anti-bodies. She took three different tests to confirm the same. However, the actress disclosed when she got contracted with the virus in March, it took the entire April to get recover from the illness.
The actress explained that it turned out to be the most burdensome illness she had ever come across in her entire life. Milano said that the virus comes into the body in stages and it affects various body parts one at the time.
She went on to explain that first her stomach started to feel weird and once it got fine then her chest started to pain. Eventually, she got to rest for some time. Although fast forward now, after six months the actress still feels symptoms such as shortness of breath, falling of hair, and heart palpitations.
"I have heart palpitations and shortness of breath and my hair is falling out. The worst part of all of it is that I have horrible ringing in my ears that is really, really annoying to say the least," she explained. She confirmed being fine now and grateful that she is alive.
The actress further revealed that not only her but also her friends got contracted with the virus. She is thankful that at least she got recovered from the coronavirus because some of her friends are still dealing with the COVID and not recovered completely.
Milano said that people need to talk more about the after-effects of the virus as no one seems to be concerned about it. She disclosed that being 100 percent normal doesn't seem to be the case once someone gets contracted with the virus.
The actress described one of the incidents that scared her because she "couldn't get a breath in". Milano said that she wore a corset that day and felt like there is an elephant placed on her chest as he became so heavy.
Milano remembered looking at her husband and wondering if they are going to rush to an emergency room or maybe fight this situation at home. However, she admitted that everyone is responsible for their circle.
