Prince Harry To Apply For US Citizenship! Latest TV Appearance Implies Future Plans In America
The British royal family has always been a steady-state of an institution, not a lot has changed over the years for the family, and they have kept all of their personal and public problems under wrap. But the recent decision of Prince Harry and wife, Meghan Markle to step down from their royal duties last January 2020 has shook the royal institution.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made it clear last January that they were no longer going to work as senior royals, dropping all of their responsibilities and choosing to do commercial ventures instead.
By the end of March 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex finalized their exit, which was branded by social media as ‘Megxit’.
There's no turning back for the two, but there were repercussions posted by the royal family for the couple, stripping of Harry of his many honorary military titles and removing the ‘HRH’ from both of them.
Yet, Harry and Meghan Markle have never been happier now that they are living in the US as private citizens.
The couple was invited by TIME’s 100 Most Influential People telecast yesterday night, wherein the two royals made their debut in American Television.
In the short video, Harry commented on the current political climate in the US, with the upcoming presidential elections happening in six weeks.
Prince Harry, who has stayed apolitical, considering his status as a British royal member, urged Americans to register to vote and vote in the coming elections.
He also let slips that he will not be voting ‘on THIS election’, which opened up a dialogue whether the Prince had plans to get a US citizen.
The comment stated by the prince implied that for the 2020 election, he will not vote… yet. The Prince is still a British citizen and there has been no announcement of plans that he will apply for dual citizenship.
It does pose the question of whether Prince Harry will apply for one in the near future.
Royal commentators revealed that it’s best for Prince Harry to drop his titles altogether, including that of his son, Archie Harrison. This will enable Harry to be more outspoken about his political views and may even pursue a political career in America.
Rumors of the Prince applying for a visa has been circulating, although this has yet to be proven, the fact that Prince Harry is keen on staying in America is already a tell-tale sign of his future plans with his citizenship.
