Sofia Vergara, allegedly, proposed to George Clooney.

This week, New Idea published a misleading headline about the A-listers, saying that Vergara and Clooney were caught out. The tabloid also claimed that Vergara and Clooney have kept their proposal a secret until recently.

But upon closer inspection, the tabloid’s story doesn’t have anything to do with Vergara and Clooney being romantically linked to each other. Rather, the America’s Got Talent judge, allegedly, proposed a movie idea to Clooney because she wants to work with him.

Vergara, allegedly, wants to produce and star in a money-spinning crime caper flick, and she wants Clooney to be her leading man.

“George is brilliant at comedy and he’s got the same sex appeal as Sofia does. The two of them together are a multimillion-dollar prospect and his team knows it. There’s a big push to team these two up on a crime caper like Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler’s Murder Mystery, which has one of the biggest online movies in history. The only stumbling block is George’s schedule, but even he can see the appeal of him and Sofia on screen. His fans are dying for him to take a break from his serious movies,” the source said.

The insider also said that Clooney teaming up with Vergara is the perfect opportunity for the actor to showcase his comedic skills. After all, it’s, allegedly, been so long since he pulled one of his pranks on set.

However, the two people that aren’t necessarily thrilled over Vergara and Clooney’s possible partnership are their respective spouses.

“They will be praying the movie’s set locally and not in some far-flung exotic location. Let’s just say regular visits to the set could be a marriage-saving move,” the source said.

As mentioned above, New Idea deliberately published a misleading headline to make their readers think that there’s something going on between Vergara and Clooney romantically. However, this isn’t the case.

The Modern Family star just wants to work with Clooney. However, even this seems inaccurate. After all, Vergara hasn’t straight out expressed any desire to work with the Ocean’s Eleven actor.

As for their respective spouses, Amal and Manganiello will most definitely be supportive of Clooney and Vergara if they ever get cast in a movie together.
