Camila Cabello revealed how Colombian singer J Balvin helped her mental health. The 23-year-old American-Cuban singer and songwriter praised Balvin for being open about his mental health issues and pushed her towards brightness in her life.
The Never Be the Same star mentioned in Time's magazine about Balvin as he earned a spot in 100 Most Influential People of 2020. She disclosed how the 35-year-old singer helped her to get emotional strength throughout her journey.
Cabello confessed that she was a fangirl of the Con Altura star even before they worked together. While many people have sweet and bitter moments of meeting their favorite stars in real life, after collaborating with Balvin she began to admire and respect him on a different level.
"During a period of intense anxiety, I saw his posts on Instagram talking about his struggle with anxiety and mental health, and I remember bursting out crying because I no longer felt alone," Cabello mentioned in the short piece that referred to several posts the singer made on social media.
Cabello disclosed how amazed she felt after knowing that someone like him who achieved great success in professional life is still vulnerable. She praised the artist for being brave enough to admit his mental health issues on public platforms.

Cabello also spoke about how it impacted her life overall. The singer said that she feels healthy now and connected to herself compared to before. Her OCD symptoms have reduced during the pandemic as she described incidents that include crippling.
However, she described that anxiety seemed to be like any other emotion after struggling with it for several years. She also shared uplifting words for others to open up about their struggles and not to seek perfection. She concluded her message by adding that one should overcome weakness by owning the struggles.
