Liv Tyler Leaves 9-1-1: Lone Star Following Coronavirus Concerns
Liv Tyler confirmed stepping out of the action fiction, 9-1-1: Lone Star. The 43-year-old actress who portrays Michelle Blake's character on the show will not return on season two of the popular Fox show. As per the reports, the actress has already signed a deal for multiple years.
However, the decision of Tyler not returning for the next season took place because of the ongoing pandemic. As per Deadline, who first broke the news revealed that the actress has concerns related to traveling during COVID-19.
Tyler is based out of the United Kingdom and as a result, her transportation from the U.K. to Los Angeles is difficult. The showrunner and co-creator of the show, Tim Minear said that it was amazing to a huge star such as Tyler to feature in the first season of the series and make it successful.
"We loved working with Liv and will be forever indebted to her for her haunting, powerful portrayal of Michelle Blake. While we were able to tell a complete chapter in Michelle’s story, as with Connie Britton on our mothership, we also feel like there are more stories to be told," he said.
The 56-year-old screenwriter further said that Tyler is always welcome to return whenever she is comfortable. It is worth noting that the storyline didn't have Tyler's exit from the show and to fill her absence Gina Torres will portray a new character.
Torres is set to portray a character named Tommy Vega who is a paramedic captain. Vega will enter the workplace following her family's financial crisis due to pandemic. Torres' entry in the series was revealed in September and the new episodes of the series are going to premiere in 2021.
The serious follows a New York firefighter played by Rob Lowe, who moved to Austin and tries to solve life problems. The series also stars Rafael Silva, Julian Works, Brian Michael Smith, Natacha Karam, Sierra McClain, Ronen Rubenstein, and Jim Parrack.
The series is produced by Brad Falchuk Teley-Vision and Ryan Murphy. The filming of the next season of the spin-off is set to start from Oct. 2020 while fans are expecting these dates might change due to the COVID-19 impact.
There are movies and television series cautiously slowing down the production process due to safety precautions and guidelines. Since the news has been announced, Tyler who portrayed the leading lady in the series is already being missed by the fans.
