Here's The Tragic Reason Why Princess Beatrice Canceled Her Royal Wedding
Princess Beatrice has, reportedly, canceled her wedding to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. The duo has decided not to go ahead with their wedding as the country is battling amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Beatrice was slated to tie the knot with her beau on May 29 this year. However, the lockdown period in the United Kingdom is now extended for another three weeks and Prince Andrew’s elder daughter and Mozzi decided to call off the event.
A spokesperson reportedly shared that the couple does not have any plans to have a grand wedding or switch the venue for the event. The couple is reportedly not even thinking of their marriage at this time.
They can rearrange the date but they have not done it yet. The same spokesperson added that the couple did not even send out the invitations to their guests.
The Duke of York’s elder daughter was scheduled to get married at St. James’s Palace’s Chapel Royal. However, her wedding date has now been postponed for an indefinite period.
Also, Queen Elizabeth II has confirmed that she would not be hosting her granddaughter’s reception at Buckingham Palace even before the lockdown came into effect last month. It is believed that the Princess is spending the lockdown period at Edo’s West London home.
Other family members of the Duke of York including her sister Princess Eugenie are spending the lockdown period at the Royal Lodge, Prince Andrew’s home. Contrary to her younger sister, Princess Beatrice is maintaining a low profile amid the coronavirus pandemic, Express reports.
Out of the two sisters, Eugenie is considered to be more outgoing. She has been constantly updating royal fans on social media, especially in recent weeks. While Duke of York’s elder daughter does not have any public Instagram account, her younger sister is quite regular on Instagram and has about 1.1 million followers.
Meanwhile, according to another report by Express, HRH Princess of Beatrice of York could be given an additional royal title after she gets married to Mozzi. It is to be noted that Mozzi is the only male descendant of the noble Mapelli Mozzi family of Italy. He is a count on his right since birth.
It is also expected that Beatrice could become a Countess after she marries Mozzi. Also, according to the grapevine, the Princess might be lucky to bypass a royal rule that did not allow Eugenie to get an additional royal title after she got married. The royal tradition dictates that only the monarch’s male descendants receive the highest ranking hereditary title of Duke.
