The number of the United States’ coronavirus cases has gone past 6,800,000 -  and clearly, by far, the country is the worst-hit in the entire world. However, since the get-go, President Donald Trump has been asking people to settle down playing down the effects of the deadly coronavirus. Even now, it doesn’t quite look like 6 months of the uncomfortably unusual pandemic period have passed.

As a matter of fact, the Head of Office has changed his stance on the pandemic on multiple occasions. At the start, he suggested the coronavirus was like the normal flu that would go away in a flash - at the peak, he said he would do everything needed to keep away the dangerous threats posed by the virus - and now again as the country is gradually gaining the control of the situation, Trump is saying it’s not much of a trouble.

On Monday, during an improperly socially distanced rally in Swanton Ohio, Trump suggested that coronavirus may pose a risk to older people, but it’s not a reason for worry to young people.

Addressing a group of mostly maskless people, Trump said: “It affects elderly people, elderly people with heart problems and other problems. That’s what it really affects. Below the age of 18, like, nobody. They have a strong immune system, who knows? Take your hat off to the young, because they have a hell of an immune system. But it affects virtually nobody. It’s an amazing thing.”

Everything Trump has said is in complete contrast to what health experts and scientists have been saying of the virus. The public guidelines from health experts ask people regardless of their age to follow the coronavirus protocols alike as it can be equally lethal to both older and younger populations.

In the month of March, in conversation with Washington Post’s associate editor Bob Woodward for his book “Rage,” Trump said the situations were miscued – it wasn’t only for old people, but “older.”

Trump has got flak for the methodology he followed to fight the virus - severe criticism came not only from his rivals, but even pro-Republicans have also said that the President failed to manage the situation leading to a blunder in the nation.

The situations spiraled out of control – and now Trump’s promise of vaccine availability before the 2020 presidential election has resulted in people smelling a rat, which may turn out to be a reason of worry for the president in his political pursuits.
