Royal Coronation Update: Prince Charles Unpopularity With Commonwealth Nations Will Cause the British Monarchy Its Crown Experts Revealed
The British royal family has been a force to be reckoned with for many centuries now, it has made history what it is today and it has conquered many overseas. But things have changed in this lifetime, the difference between the old royals and the new royals is quite adamant, yet, one thing stays unbothered in the long line of succession of the royal family, it is the 16 countries that still consider the reigning sovereign of Britain as their head-of-state.
These 16 countries have 54 nations in total, and they are called the ‘Commonwealth nations’. In the past, these countries are under the protection and order of the Queen or King of England.
As of now, Queen Elizabeth II is the head-of-state of 54 commonwealth nations. This week, news broke out that Barbados, one of the commonwealth nations, are calling to separate themselves from the British monarchy.
The Barbadian government is bidding to become a republic country, completely letting go of there ‘colonial’ past. This news did not come as a shock to the royal institution, in a statement released by royal officials, the Queen has been informed of the move by Barbados and has been in the talks with them for quite a while now.
The Queen will have no reason to refuse Barbados’s plea to become a republic and will accede quietly. But what does this mean for the other nations in the commonwealth, experts believe that others will follow suit for sure but not within the time of the Queen’s rule.
The danger of Prince Charles becoming King is that the commonwealth nations will most likely back away from the royal ruler. Queen Elizabeth II is the longest-reigning monarch in the history of British royalty and she is a well-loved royal, who has been supporting her commonwealth nations un-begrudgingly.
Prince Charles, although has been the heir apparent for many decades now has always been in the shadow of a great queen and a charming ex-wife. Royal commentators have open up about the harsh reality that Prince Charles will face on his journey as King, and that is his unpopularity amongst the commonwealth nations.
Commentators also revealed how one person could have saved face for both Charles and the royal family, and that could have only been the late Princess Diana.
